Dr Derrick Tee received his medical degree from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2000 and achieved his UK Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. He trained in Gastroenterology in large tertiary hospitals in London, UK before obtaining his MRCP Gastroenterology exit exams in 2010. 

Following this, he was awarded his higher MD (Res) degree at Imperial College London for his research on intestinal immunology with an emphasis on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Short Bowel Syndrome. Having spent a fellowship year at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth he consolidated his advanced endoscopic skills, mastered endoscopic ultrasound and extended his knowledge on pancreaticobiliary conditions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London), and has published several peer review papers and abstracts as well as presented both nationally and internationally.

Dr Tee is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and Clinical Lead for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service at the Gastroenterology unit. He is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of Adelaide.
