Dr Asif Chinnaratha completed his advanced training in Gastroenterology in Western Australia. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2013 and completed another year of sub-speciality training in hepatology with the Liver Transplant unit at Flinders Medical Centre. He completed his PhD with the Flinders University of South Australia exploring the effect of hepatitis B viral infection and its complications in South Australia.

Dr Chinnaratha is a consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. He has a special interest in hepatology; in particular, hepatocellular carcinoma and viral hepatitis. In addition to this, he provides a general gastroenterology service at the hospital.

Dr Chinnaratha commenced consulting as a private Gastroenterologist in 2015 at Adelaide Gastrointestinal Specialists (AGIS). He is taking all new referrals with only minimal waiting periods. He is committed to providing a timely and thorough service, including both upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. He consults from our main rooms at Tynte street in North Adelaide and at Calvary Central Districts Specialists’ Consulting Suites at Elizabeth Vale. He has procedure lists at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital, Calvary Central Districts Hospital and Glenelg Community Hospital.
