Dr Damian Harding is a Specialist Gastroenterologist and liver physician. After graduating from King’s College School of Medicine London, his post-graduate medical training took place in Nottingham England and Perth Western Australia. Damian has been awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians London, and fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Damian completed a clinical fellowship in liver and transplant medicine with the Birmingham Liver Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Europe’s largest transplant center, and was a viral hepatitis research fellow with the University of Birmingham. As part of an MSc in Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Damian undertook research into viral hepatitis in pregnancy. He is currently involved in research into liver disease as part of a PhD with the University of Adelaide.

Damian has a passion for improving patient outcomes and healthcare. He started South Australia’s first Fatty Liver clinic at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, which is involved in various clinical studies. He also assists with medical training and teaching in Timor Leste with the charitable foundation ANZGITA.

Damian is a senior consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, visiting consultant Hepatologist at Flinders Medical Centre, and a senior clinical lecturer at University of Adelaide. He has experience in all areas of gastroenterology and liver medicine, with particular expertise in fatty liver and chronic liver disease.
